Phil Woods - Author of Website and Head Writer
My Formula One is a website set up to bring you the latest news, views, race reports and interviews from deep inside the intense and exciting sport of Formula One.

The author of the website and head reporter is Phil Woods, a published comedy author with an overriding passion for motor sport, especially Formula One.

A bit of history first, Phil Woods lives in North Wales and had his first book published in 2009 entitled, 'Beat About the Bush - The Funny Side of Language'. This book got to number one on an Amazon category chart, even if it was for just a couple of days. He wrote the book with his friend Steve Smith and they are working on the follow up at the moment.

Phil first became interested in journalism back in his school days when a spell at the 'Wirral News' gave him the bug, he never lost that bug, but went straight into a money making sales job, which at that age was no match for University.

After some years writing match reports and articles for a local football clubs programme and website, he decided it was time to take his career in a new direction and is now about to undergo a Diploma in Freelance Journalism. He is a member of the National Union of Journalists.

Phil has been an avid fan of Formula One for many years and is now concentrating all his efforts on writing about Formula One.

This website began life in January 2012 and has already grown into a very popular place for F1 fans I visit. We have also been lucky enough to gain interviews with Tony Fernandes of Caterham F1 Team and CEO of English Premier League team Queens Park Rangers. Tony also has many other business ventures. He has interviewed driver Vitaly Petrov and Caterham's Head of Communications, Tom Webb.

Phil hopes this website grows from strength to strength and also hopes to write for other F1 websites and magazines. Phil hopes you enjoy the website and keep returning.
